DRESSAGE ENDEAVORS

This is where it all started! this is a win photo of my grandfather's horse, Ruffsong. in the picture are my grandfather, grandmother, aunt and uncle (all deceased now) and my big brother (kid on the left). I was only two at the time, but this is the horse that we named our ranch after and my grandfather is the one I inherited the 'horsey gene' from!


The first time I was on a horse I was 2, and my grandfather plopped me on one of his Thoroughbreds. My parents say I learned the word 'horse' before any other! I am about 5 or 6 here on a pony named Daisy.	Here I am about 9 on a hot QH mare, named Lady, riding at a lesson. I got my own horse at 11 (Hershey) and rode her bareback all over the Wisconsin countryside! Later, (in my early twenties) I exercised polo ponies. I started some un-touched 2 year old thoroughbreds for the track, which was a challenge b/c they were basically wild and had never been touched. What fun!


Now I am learning dressage on my new mare. I am very excited about learning and wish I had more time to devote to it exclusively. I will continue to trail ride of course, and I will add more pictures of me & Maggie as we learn dressage. We are both beginners, but at this point she probably knows more than me! I am limited by time and money as to how often I can take lessons, but it's my #1 project for 2008, to ride and work at it consistently. Thanks for letting me share!
